Boca Raton council approves conditional use for vehicle storage, service at 6403 West Rogers Circle over neighbors' traffic objections

The Boca Raton City Council on Sept. 10 approved a conditional use and related site-plan amendment that will allow storage, service and limited retail-related functions for motor vehicles at 6403 West Rogers Circle.

The unanimous vote (5-0) adopted Resolution 80-20-24 (conditional use) and Resolution 81-20-24 (site-plan amendment and technical deviations). City staff recommended approval after the applicant substantially revised the floor plan and submitted a new traffic study that reduced projected daily trips for the site from about 1,152 in the original submittal to 296 in the updated analysis.

Why it matters: Neighbors and tenants in the South Congress Industrial Center (SCIC) said the change could alter the industrial character of the park, increase congestion on Rogers Circle and Holland Drive, and pose safety risks near nearby schools and walk routes.
