Public comment on compliance and timeline: Resident Jonathan Unjian said he wanted the city to prioritize meaningful compliance over fines in a Danberg development code‑enforcement situation. “My whole thing is I want the same thing as the city, which is compliance, and to see a development there,” he said, urging that penalty provisions should ensure the developer meets deadlines.
Council follow‑up and staff clarification: Council Member Nackles asked whether the timeline in staff emails meant 15 months total or 12 months to obtain a site‑plan amendment plus 15 months to build. City Manager Brown replied: “It’s 12 months to obtain a site plan amendment if it is necessary and then 15 months to build once they commence.” He also clarified that entering a stipulated order does not mean a property is in compliance until the second phase of the project is completed.
Emergency preparedness: City Manager Brown said staff are closely monitoring an approaching storm, activated the Citizen Information Center and urged residents to sign up for city alerts; he provided the CIC number for sandbag and other inquiries.
Next steps: Council will make board appointments at the regular meeting tomorrow evening; staff will finalize the agreement referenced in email correspondence with the developer and continue to monitor compliance and storm preparedness.
