Town interns digitize road data and complete .gov email transition; staff to circulate access instructions

Thomas Hayden, a town intern, told the council he mapped the town boundary and road assets into Diamond Maps, updated the road‑sign inventory, and produced a roads department manual intended to capture the departing roads manager’s institutional knowledge. He said Jones & DeMille will provide shapefiles of road‑sign photos and locations that can be imported into Diamond Maps for greater precision.

Thomas said the manual documents annual maintenance procedures, contacts, and potential priority projects (culverts, small pavement treatments) so that the next roads manager “will not be walking in blind.” Council members praised the work and asked to schedule a demonstration before the roads manager leaves.

On IT, Sam Bouchard, the town IT intern, described the migration of the town website and email to townofbluffutah.gov (www.townofbluff.org will auto‑forward). He said Galaxy IT will complete the final steps on the scheduled Friday changeover, that staff passwords and access should remain intact, but that staff should expect to re‑login once and change passwords afterward. Sam warned that .gov status reduces spoofing risk but does not eliminate phishing.

Council asked staff to circulate a brief how‑to for external contacts and to confirm who to call if emergency access problems occur during the weekend after the migration.
