The Franklin County Commission on Nov. 20 directed staff to re-bid two solid-waste vehicles after no bids were received and approved a personnel hire for the Solid Waste Department.
The commission approved re-bidding the sale of a 2006 Ford F150 and a 2008 Ford F250 after the county received no acceptable bids. Commissioners instructed staff to reissue the invitations to bid under the same terms.
Separately, the board approved hiring Brandi Barnett as the Solid Waste Department's Accounts Receivable Specialist effective Dec. 4, 2023. The packet also records that the commission hired temporary heavy-equipment operator Riley Winstead effective Oct. 30, 2023, and later accepted his resignation effective Nov. 8; the commission authorized advertising to fill the heavy-operator vacancy.
All motions were recorded as unanimous among commissioners present. The land-fill manager and county staff will process vendor rebids and HR steps to complete the hire and run recruitment for the heavy-equipment operator vacancy.
