Cheatham County approves a slate of budget amendments, routine surplus and consent items

At its July 21 meeting, the Cheatham County Legislative Body approved a package of budget amendments across several funds, accepted departmental year-end reports, authorized surplus equipment and approved routine consent items.

The Budget Committee recommended multiple amendments that the full commission approved by roll call votes (all items recorded as approved 12'0Yes, 0'No unless otherwise noted). Amendments included County General Fund transfers totaling $640,051.54 to cover several departments (election commission, county buildings maintenance, county clerk's office, drug recovery court, courtroom security, sheriff's department, jail, emergency management, rabies and animal control, EMS and recreation projects), Highway/Public Works adjustments ($21,213.42), Drug Control Fund ($63,000) and General Capital Projects ($781,005). The Solid Waste/Sanitation Fund amendment ($79,881.84) and an interfund capital outlay note for CCCHS paving were also approved as part of the agenda.

The commission also approved surplus of four Panasonic CF-20 Toughbooks from EMS as end-of-life equipment and approved the County Mayor's signatures on an iWorQ service agreement for building and codes and a Virtual Academy agreement for jail training. A Beer Board permit for Nashville National Golf Links and a consent list of notaries were approved by voice vote.

County Clerk Abby Short and other department heads placed year-end financial reports on file. With no further business, the commission adjourned at 7:02 p.m.

Most items were routine committee recommendations, but the TDOT safety agreement (discussed separately) drew the meeting's only recorded dissent.
