Residents urge denial of Sears Road rezoning; commission defers Dalton request 10-2

Four residents from the countyfifth voting district told the commission they opposed a proposed zone change on Sears Road, pressing concerns about non-conforming lots and the neighborhood pattern.

The commission deferred the zone-change request filed by Christian Dalton (E1 to R1 for Map 93, Parcel 10) until the next meeting. The motion to defer was made by Commissioner Diana Pike Lovell and seconded by Commissioner James Hedgepath; the roll-call vote was 10 yes and 2 no with two commissioners recorded as opposing the deferral.

A separate zoning request nearby drew a different result. The commission approved Bobby Hacketts request to rezone a Chapmansboro Road parcel from C3 to Agriculture (Map 48, Parcel 13.05) in a roll-call vote of 12-0. Minutes show that the parcel is in a Special Flood Hazard Area.
