ELLENSBURG, Wash. — At the Jan. 26 Kittitas County Board of Commissioners study session, Event Center Director Kady Porterfield said staff have prepared an onboarding program for incoming Fair Board directors and will provide training to new livestock directors.
Porterfield reported the county applied for a second‑round WSDA grant for lighting and accessibility improvements in Frontier Village but was not awarded funding this round; staff said the county had previously received $300,000 from WSDA and that the recent request was prioritized lower by the agency. Commissioners then discussed courthouse display cases and the need to relocate aging trophies to make room for a sister‑city exhibit. Roylene Crawford volunteered to help sort trophies, and staff agreed to remove items and offer some to the Kittitas County Historical Museum by the end of the week.
