Cheatham County commissioners voted Oct. 20 to lower the speed limit from 40 to 35 miles per hour on four rural roads: Peter Pond Road, Blue Springs Road, Bennett Road and Red Binkley Road.
The Road & Bridge committee recommended the change; Commissioner Walter Weakley moved and Commissioner Randy Noe seconded the motion, which passed on a voice vote and is recorded as Resolution 19 in the minutes. The minutes do not include individual roll‑call tallies for this voice‑vote action.
The change will be implemented by the county’s road department and will require updating signage and notifying relevant county staff. The minutes do not list an effective date beyond the resolution’s adoption at the Oct. 20 meeting.
