Mister Michaud told the committee two of the ambulances had been budgeted in fiscal 2025 and the third in the current fiscal year, and staff rolled the items together so all three could be procured at once. "These actually came in well under budget. The budget for all 3 was 945,000," he said.
Discussion with staff and the assistant covered delivery timing and fleet management. The assistant said the two ambulances already on order should arrive in weeks and that lead time on new orders is about 10 months. On fleet rotation, the assistant said the city runs five frontline ambulances daily, has about eight vehicles overall with three in reserve, and that units removed from frontline service are typically sold through the city auction site goesdeals.org with the fleet manager, Kevin Oxley, handling the sale.
Committee members asked whether the new units would replace frontline vehicles or supplement the fleet; staff said the new vehicles will replace current frontline ambulances and that reserve and rotation plans would follow. The committee moved the resolution and adopted it by voice vote.
The presentation noted procurement delays on prior orders but stated the lead‑time issues have been ‘‘straightened up.’’ No additional funding action was required; presenters said the purchases are within the approved budget after a rollover of previously budgeted items.
