CHARLESTON — On Oct. 20 the City of Charleston Finance Committee approved several procurement measures on voice votes.
Mid Atlantic LLC was awarded a one‑year, as‑needed contract for road salt at $85 per ton delivered (Resolution 25‑103). Mr. Michaud said that price is lower than last year's roughly $98 per ton and that the city received four bids.
The committee also authorized a one‑year subscription for VMware virtual server software support with Zones LLC at $56,130.99 (Resolution 25‑104). Mr. Michaud said the price increase reflects a change by the incumbent vendor, which was bought out and is now requiring annual subscriptions rather than a one‑time purchase.
Votes at a glance (committee action): - Resolution 25‑100: EMS equipment purchase — approved. - Resolution 25‑101: FY25–26 budget amendment for fire truck repairs — approved. - Resolution 25‑102: Contract with Atlantic Emergency Solutions for Engine 455 repairs — approved. - Resolution 25‑103: Road salt contract with Mid Atlantic LLC ($85/ton) — approved. - Resolution 25‑104: VMware subscription with Zones LLC ($56,130.99) — approved. - Resolution 25‑105: Vista View payoff and lien release ($395,000) — approved.
