The Juneau County Board of Supervisors voted on Feb. 17 to table Resolution 26-09, a plan to approve the “Chief Elected Officials Consortium Agreement of the Western Wisconsin Workforce Development Area,” until its March meeting following public comment and debate. The motion to table, made by Supervisor H. Fischer and seconded by Supervisor J. Ard, passed 17-3. M. Keichinger was recorded absent.
The resolution was initially introduced by Supervisor R. Granger and seconded by Supervisor C. Zindorf. Board minutes show public comment from A. Stieve and a series of board recognitions and remarks from multiple supervisors during the discussion. The minutes list several members recognized to speak, including J. Jasinski, S. Thomas, H. Dannenberg, H. Fischer, J. Cauley, G. Haunroth, J. McGinley, J. Ard and J. Hemerley, indicating extended consideration before the tabling motion.
The board took no final action to adopt the consortium agreement; tabling sends the item to the March meeting for further review. The minutes do not specify the substance of the concerns raised in public comment or in the supervisors’ remarks, nor do they record text of the proposed agreement in full. The board will revisit the resolution at its March meeting, per the minutes.
