The board also approved naming Rachel Schory to the DFACS Board to replace Lt. Boswell, who no longer resides in the county (motion by Commissioner Larry Hammond, second by Commissioner David Walls).
Chairman Lee Boone told the board that an interested production company has asked to film a diving scene at the county’s old rock quarry and that the county has requested a proposal and a basic contract from the production company for later review. Boone also reported an auctioneer, Chad Green, is willing to conduct a county auction this year and that Green’s clerk will check other large auction dates to avoid scheduling conflicts.
Commissioner James Perry publicly thanked students in the Heard County High School National Honor Society and the Future Farmers of America for recent cleanup work along several county roadways and suggested using community service workers, county work detail inmates when available, and a community cleanup and recycling day to address roadside trash more systematically.
