Hancock County supervisors appoint Linda Juhl as treasurer, set March 30 hearing on cold storage facility

The Hancock County Board of Supervisors on March 2, 2026, unanimously appointed Linda Juhl to fill the vacancy for Hancock County Treasurer and set a public hearing for March 30, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. to consider plans, specifications and estimated costs for the Hancock County Secondary Road Cold Storage Facility project.

Supervisor Gary Rayhons moved to approve the tentative agenda and then moved the appointment of Linda Juhl; Supervisor Florence (Sis) Greiman seconded both motions. Both motions carried unanimously. The appointment was made under Iowa Code §69.14(A) and will last until the next General Election, as stated by the Board. District Associate Judge Salic administered the oath of office to Juhl following the appointment.

The Board also approved the minutes of Feb. 23, 2026, and authorized Auditor Michelle K. Eisenman to issue checks for the claims on file that day. The minutes will include a full listing of all claims paid in March 2026 and are scheduled for publication in the March 16, 2026 minutes.

On a motion by Rayhons, seconded by Greiman and carried, the Board set March 30 at 9:30 a.m. as the date and time for a public hearing on approval of the plans, specifications and estimated costs for the Hancock County Secondary Road Cold Storage Facility project; the transcript does not state the estimated cost amount.
