The Cloud County Board of Commissioners on July 28 recognized the resignation of Christopher Miller from his Mechanic position, effective Aug. 8, 2025.
The board approved two executive sessions under the personnel exception. Commissioner Dannie Kearn moved and Commissioner Ron Copple seconded a five-minute executive session to discuss non-elected personnel that would resume at 10:18 a.m.; the motion passed by unanimous vote. Later, on a motion by Commissioner Copple, seconded by Commissioner Kearn, the board approved a 10-minute executive session to resume at 10:52 a.m.; the motion explicitly included Health Department Administrator Tonya Sulanka and County Clerk Shella Thoman in that session and passed unanimously.
Following those actions, the board approved hiring Nikole Underwood as a Corrections Officer (E1) effective July 29, 2025; the motion to hire, moved by Commissioner Copple and seconded by Commissioner Kearn, was recorded as unanimous.
The board also approved the July 21, 2025 minutes as presented and adjourned the July 28 meeting at 11:54 p.m.; the next regular meeting was scheduled for Monday, Aug. 4, 2025.
