Cloud County certifies 2025 election results after provisional-ballot review; ties set for Dec. 1

The Cloud County Board of Commissioners opened the 2025 City/School General Election canvass on Nov. 17 and recommended counting 15 of the 23 provisional ballots submitted, county officials said. On a motion by Commissioner Ron Copple, seconded by Commissioner Dannie Kearn, the board unanimously approved the certified election results.
County Clerk Shella Thoman told the board the canvass would be paused for the regular meeting and later resumed; she also said the results showed ties for at least two city council positions. The board announced that tied contests for the Miltonvale and Glasco city councils will be resolved at a special meeting on Dec. 1, 2025, at 9:30 a.m.
The approval of results finalizes local vote counts reported at the canvass. The board’s vote to certify was recorded as unanimous during the Nov. 17 meeting. The clerk’s office maintains the canvass records and provisional-ballot determinations; members of the public may review the detailed canvass paperwork at the County Clerk’s office or online.
