The Board discussed and approved details for an annual pumpkin-decorating contest and for a county employee food drive. First place in the contest will receive $100 in Chamber Bucks supplied by the Concordia Lutheran Church Foundation; second place gets $50 and third gets $25. An additional $75 of prize money will come from WindFarm funds; contest proceeds will be matched up to $500 with WindFarm funds and donated to the Cloud County Resource Center and the Cloud County Food Pantry. The contest is open to all Cloud County residents.
The employee food drive offers paid-leave incentives: employees donating at least 10 items or $15 will receive a half day of paid leave; donating double that amount qualifies for a full day. County offices will be closed to the public on a date to be determined; donated items will be distributed to the county food pantry and resource center.
