On Sept. 22 the Cloud County Board of Commissioners voted unanimously to approve a letter of support for a Cloud County Community College drone delivery infrastructure demonstration project.
Commissioner Ron Copple moved for the board to sign the letter; Commissioner Dannie Kearn seconded the motion, and the board approved the letter by unanimous vote. The minutes record the action as a sign of official support; no funding commitment or contract award was recorded in the meeting minutes.
Why it matters: a letter of support from the county can strengthen the college’s case to partner organizations or grantors for a demonstration project. The support may facilitate site access or local cooperation but does not itself authorize funding or operational control.
The board took this action as part of its regular session; staff and project proponents were not recorded making a presentation during this agenda item in the minutes.
