Tim Beims, director of CloudCorp, presented a draft of the July 2025 "In the Cloud" grant recommendations to the Cloud County Board during the July 14 meeting and said he will make adjustments and present a final version the following week.
Department heads also provided operational updates during a department head session running 9:18–10:04 a.m., including routine reports from Solid Waste, the Sheriff’s Office, Register of Deeds, Highway/Weed, Treasurer and Maintenance. Health Department Administrator Tonya Sulanka said state grant applications were pending, an MCH audit was scheduled for later in the month, and a staff reclassification and hiring were underway.
During public comment, residents Jordan Budreau and Sandra Fowler raised concerns related to HB2084 and the sale of kratom in Cloud County. The board did not take formal county action on the matter and recommended that the residents consult the City of Concordia about next steps or city-level regulation.
No formal vote or directive on kratom was recorded in the minutes.
