McCone County commissioners approve MDT right-of-way agreement for Highway 200; award tire-disposal bid and approve voucher

Presiding Officer Alan Stempel called the Jan. 26 meeting of the McCone County Board of Commissioners to order in Circle. Commissioners Ty Taylor and Lonny Jensen joined Stempel; Taylor moved and Jensen seconded multiple motions that passed unanimously 3-0.
The board approved an MDT Right of Way Agreement related to Highway 200 near Brockway for a road improvement project after a motion by Commissioner Ty Taylor and a second by Commissioner Lonny Jensen. The motion passed 3-0; a copy of the agreement is filed in the commissioners’ records. (MDT refers to the Montana Department of Transportation.)
At 2:15 p.m. the board opened bids for tire disposal for the South Road Shop. Commissioner Taylor moved to approve the best-qualified bid; Commissioner Jensen seconded and the motion passed 3-0. The bid documentation is on file with the commissioners.
The board reviewed and approved Voucher #1027 for warrant #100794 for Public Safety in the amount of $1,706.52. The January 20, 2026 minutes were approved as amended. The board also tabled the second reading of Resolution #26-01-26(A) (setting office hours for 2026) and tabled the Gravel Permit renewal; the Fisher Sand and Gravel Permit for the Dunham section was reviewed (no final vote recorded on the Dunham permit in the transcript).
Other business included reports from Commissioner Stempel on a Jan. 21 Library Board meeting in Circle and a Jan. 22 EMCMHC board meeting in Miles City, a DES Zoom call at 2:00 p.m. in which DES Coordinator Keri Taylor participated, a South Road Foreman report on moving fairgrounds buildings and repaired graders, and a GIS update from Nancy Stempel (with Commissioner Stempel recorded as abstaining from that discussion).
