Boca Raton CRA previews summer concerts, Circuit shuttle launch and Center for Arts and Innovation milestone

At the Boca Raton Community Redevelopment Agency meeting on June 10, Chair Nattlis highlighted a slate of summer cultural events and downtown projects and provided an update on the Center for Arts and Innovation land‑use milestone.
Nattlis previewed the Summer in the City concert series at the Mizer Park Amphitheatre, including a kickoff by the Caribbean Chillers, Rock of ABBA on June 21, a China Grove tribute on June 28, Crazy Fingers with Sinfonia Boca Raton on July 12, and Billy Buchanan on July 19. The chair said the concerts begin at 7 p.m., admission is free and the first 50 entrants receive a beach towel or tote.
She also listed bookings at the Funky Biscuit and museum exhibitions opening in June at the Boca Raton Museum of Art; the Boca Raton Historical Society will mark the city’s 1924 original incorporation on June 22. Chair Nattlis announced Circuit Transit Inc.'s on‑demand downtown shuttle will launch on June 17 and encouraged residents to download the Circuit app and the My Boca app for downtown updates.
On development, Chair Nattlis and Mister Brown reported the Center for Arts and Innovation submitted landlord plans in April. Mister Brown said the city provided comments within 30 days, the developer is working on responses, and the city has a six‑month timeline from April to complete the landlord‑plan process. The chairs said the plans will come before the CRA and city council jointly for future approval.
Chair Nattlis also described short‑timeline quick‑build projects, coordination with Brookfield on updated color schemes for painted metal elements, Sanborn Square public‑art planning targeted for September, and recent bike‑friendly street markings on 2nd Street. No formal votes were taken on these programs at the meeting; the CRA adopted the prior meeting’s minutes unanimously and then adjourned at 1:43 p.m.
