Fulton County approves HAVA-funded security upgrades for election offices

Fulton County commissioners on Dec. 9 approved security upgrades at the county’s election offices funded by the 2024 HAVA Elections Security Grant. The board authorized a TelePlus keycard fob installation for the Voter Registration/Election Office door and approved Elect IT contractor Rick Grissinger to install separate cameras above the Commissioners' Office and the Voter Registration/Election Office doors.
The action followed a presentation by Voter Registration/Election Director Linda Doyle and a review of a TelePlus quote. Commissioner Steven L. Wible made the motion to approve using the HAVA grant funds for the work; the board voted unanimously in favor. The total amount authorized for this work in the minutes was $3,000.00.
The upgrades are described in the minutes as part of the county’s 2024 HAVA Elections Security Grant activity and are limited to the keycard fob installation and camera hardware and installation at the two entry points named. The minutes state Rick Grissinger, Elect IT, will perform the camera installation.
