County Manager Reid Lovett told commissioners that the county received a Transportation Investment Act contract and resolution from the Georgia Department of Transportation covering improvements to Satilla Church Road and Ten Mile Road. Lovett said the project will be posted for bid around August.
Commissioner Daryl Edwards moved to allow the chairman to sign the contract and resolution on behalf of the county; Commissioner Randy Sellers seconded the motion and the board unanimously approved the authorization. Lovett framed the action as a step to proceed with GDOT-funded TIA projects and prepare the county to receive and evaluate bids later this summer.
No detailed project scope or contract number was read into the minutes; the board’s action was limited to authorizing the chairman to execute the contract and resolution included in the board packet. Staff indicated bidding would commence roughly in August, and Lovett noted that TIA projects will be bid in August in his manager’s report.
