Appling County approves participation in DA-office audit, personnel moves and salary increase after executive session

When asked later about cost estimates, Brown said the audit would run between $3,903 and $5,855.
The board also retroactively approved the appointment of Geri Dicker as Human Resources Specialist effective Jan. 1, 2025, and approved a 5% salary increase for Road Superintendent Carol Weaver to reflect added responsibilities. Commissioner Daryl Edwards moved for the executive session and motions concerning the personnel items carried unanimously.
Finally, the board approved changing its regular May meeting date from May 6 to May 8 because of a scheduling conflict.
What happens next: The county will process the audit participation paperwork and implement the personnel actions through county payroll and human-resources procedures.
