The Common Council approved a confirming resolution to designate 3610 Independence Drive as an economic revitalization area to support Systems Engineering and Sales Company LLC (SESCO) in purchasing and expanding into a larger facility in Fort Wayne.
Andrea Robinson summarized the project as a $1,315,000 investment expected to create 35 new full-time positions with an estimated total annual payroll of $2,825,000 and an average annual salary the presenter stated at about $80,714. Colin Gallagher, SESCO’s vice president of finance, described the company's growth trajectory, a plan to relocate into a 125,000-square-foot facility and a hiring plan that includes skilled welders and manufacturing staff. Gallagher said the company’s backlog extends into 2027 and that private-equity capital (a September 2025 acquisition) is supporting expansion.
Council members lauded the district location and asked about workforce availability; Gallagher said hiring will be a mix of local recruitment and some relocation for critical positions. The committee moved a "do pass" recommendation and the council recorded final passage for R260222 as part of the package of economic revitalization resolutions.
The designation authorizes tax-phase-in incentives under Indiana Code 6-1.1-12.1 to support the facility expansion; the company said it expects to grow from about 25 employees to roughly 60 over the next five years.
