The Tennessee Senate Education Committee considered several nominees for state education boards on March 23 and approved multiple appointments.
Miss Cathy Cobb testified about her 44 years in education and her experience with special education. After brief questions from members, the committee approved her appointment (SR292) by voice/roll call; the clerk recorded seven ayes and the nomination was moved to the calendar.
Kelly Rollins, of Murfreesboro, described his community involvement and support for improving statewide education outcomes; the committee approved his appointment (SJR342) and moved it to the committee on calendar.
The panel also considered nominees to University of Tennessee advisory boards, including Dan Sissom and Todd Skelton. Each nominee described their background and commitment to higher education; motions to approve were seconded and the nominations moved to the calendar.
