Cheatham County approves copier, health and juvenile detention contracts and confirms two board appointments

Cheatham County commissioners authorized several contracts and the mayor’s signature on Jan. 23 and confirmed two Water/Wastewater Board appointees.

By roll call vote, the body approved the mayor’s execution of an RJ Young copier contract addendum for the Veterans Service Office (backup materials for a Ricoh IM C2500 were included in the packet). Commissioners also approved the county’s contract with the Tennessee Department of Health, which documents the state’s support and the county’s biannual payment schedule for local health department services for the July 1, 2022–June 30, 2023 term. The meeting record shows the county will appropriate $69,063 toward support of the Cheatham County Health Department, with a detailed billing and reporting schedule spelled out in the contract.

The commission also approved a contract with the Rutherford County Juvenile Detention Center to provide detention care at a per-detainee rate of $175 per day, with terms addressing transportation, medical expenses beyond normal detention care, indemnification and a PREA-compliance amendment included in the packet.

Mayor Kerry McCarver’s appointments of Ed Greer (through Dec. 31, 2025) and Anna DiCarlo (through Dec. 31, 2023) to the Water/Wastewater Board were confirmed by roll call (11 Yes, 0 No, 1 Absent).
