DDA hears FY2027 budget preview and updates on parking deck, alleyway and sidewalk projects

Assistant City Manager and Finance Director Ken Sakmar told the Downtown Development Authority that he is working on a draft FY2027 budget and expects to present it to the Authority soon. No budget figures or proposed appropriations were provided in the public meeting transcript.
Director of Economic Development Chris McGahee reported that a caulking specialty firm supplied a cost estimate for the downtown parking deck; the City requested the firm reassess the bid to reflect only work needed to stop leaks. McGahee also reported that alleyway renovations adjacent to Thrive are complete and that the Fox Street sidewalk next to the District Apartments is now finished.
Administrative business included a motion by Jim Graham, seconded by Tammy Lopez, to approve the Feb. 17, 2026 meeting minutes (motion carried), and a motion by Jim Graham, seconded by Slade Lail, to adjourn (motion carried).
