The Cloud County Board of Commissioners unanimously authorized Chairman Gary Caspers to sign Assurance and Lobbying forms related to a generator grant application after Emergency Preparedness Director James Quillen presented the grant documentation.
The board also received an opinion of probable construction cost to repair and relocate the Cloud County Health Department entrance, estimated at $240,416; the estimate does not include design costs. No action to approve design or construction funding was recorded in the minutes.
Solid Waste Director Mike Hake told the board the department received a new trailer and sold the old trailer to Jewell County for $34,500; he also said roof damage did not meet the insurance deductible for repairs. Hake announced summer hours at the Recycling Center are 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Following a brief executive session, the board approved payroll expenses totaling $183,447.70 and recorded payroll deductions and benefits of $222,568.31. The meeting included commissioner reports on recent board and committee activity, approval of the June 17, 2024 minutes, and adjournment at 12:02 p.m. until July 1, 2024.
The minutes do not identify any deadlines for the proposed health department work or specify funding sources for that estimate.
