The Aberdeen Town Board on Sept. 8 approved via consent agenda the scheduling of two zoning-map amendment public hearings for its Sept. 22 meeting.
The first, ZA-25-03, was described in the minutes as an application submitted by Drew Bass on behalf of McKee Homes for approximately 35.5 acres located east of U.S. Highway 15-501 and across from Heflin Road (PID #00049872). The requested change is from Rural Agriculture (Moore County zoning) to R-20 (Aberdeen Residential zoning).
The second, ZA-25-06, is a conditional rezoning request submitted by Kavanagh Properties, LLC for approximately 8.69 acres at 10395 N.C. Highway 211 (PID #00048923), changing from R-20 Residential to R-15 Conditional Residential.
The motion approving the consent agenda — which included the two hearing dates — was made by Mayor Pro‑tem Bryan Bowles, seconded by Commissioner Teressa Beavers, and carried unanimously, 5–0. These items will be considered at the public hearings beginning at 6:00 p.m. on Sept. 22, 2025.
