Marian Condray and Barbara Shunn of the POW Camp Concordia Preservation Society requested $10,000 toward restoring a 1944 military jeep in their collection, a restoration the presenters said would cost about $55,000. Presenters described the vehicle as rare and estimated its current value at $112,500 and a post-restoration value of $250,000; the meeting record contains an inconsistent reference to the vehicle as "WWI," but the date given (1944) corresponds to World War II-era equipment.
Other applications received included: 12 x 12 Recovery (roof repair, $16,224.80); the 125th Watermelon Festival Committee (Saturday main stage, $13,000 of a projected $19,000+ cost); the Cloud County Genealogical Society (computer/scanner/printer, $1,314.97); NCK CASA & Hope's Place Child Advocacy Center (reception/family room upgrades, $4,000); Jamestown City Library (STEM LEGO set, $500 of $1,200 projected); Saron Baptist–Danish Lutheran Church Association (historical church repair, $10,000); the 12th Judicial District Supervised Visitation and Child Exchange Service (staff training, $1,000 of an $8,810.70 project); and Hungry Hollow Ministries (mission team support, $2,000 of $4,000 projected). David Sprague submitted an application for an Innovative RV Park and storm shelter ($61,250); the board asked County Clerk Shella Thoman to contact Sprague and recommend he speak with CloudCorp about potential Get in the Cloud grant assistance.
The applications were received for board consideration; no final Windfarm awards were recorded in the April 1 minutes.
