The town presented the Elk Drive Special Tax Assessment Area (SAA) final assessment and the Board of Equalization’s report. Town staff said the Elk Drive process followed the same steps as Unit 3 and noted no changes were recommended despite earlier hearings.
The Elk Drive special assessment totals about $575,000, funded through property owner assessments of approximately $24,000 per lot. Property owners may prepay within the prescribed prepayment period without interest; otherwise assessments can be financed over 10 years with interest via bonds the town will issue. Council Member Duane Nyen moved to adopt Ordinance No. 26-003; Council Member Logan Cruz seconded. The motion carried 4-0-0.
The ordinance funds water-line improvements intended to improve fire protection and water service reliability for properties in the Elk Drive assessment area.
