The Everton town board on Jan. 13 approved a one-year extension for a building reuse grant tied to Project Bark, advancing the grant’s closeout date to Feb. 16, 2026.
Staff (speaker 7) said the extension was requested to satisfy requirements of the Department of Commerce Rural Development, Economic Development Division and that the applicant had met 17 of the 26 jobs required under the grant. "The applicant has reached 17 of the 26 jobs that were required for this grant," the staff member said. The staff report that accompanied the request included the recommended extension template.
Brandon McIntosh, the business owner present at the meeting, described the operation and markets served. He said his first plant was in Mountain Grove, Missouri, that the new Everton facility ships across the East Coast and that about "90% of our business" relates to fiber-to-the-home work promoted by federal broadband programs. McIntosh said the company has room to expand at the Everton location and that staff and local economic-development partners are confident the job target can be met by the new closeout date.
Committee member (speaker 3) moved to approve the building reuse grant extension for Project Bark with a new closeout date of Feb. 16, 2026; the motion was seconded and the board carried the motion.
Next steps: staff and the Moore County Economic Development Partnership will continue to coordinate with the applicant on meeting grant conditions and reporting job-creation progress to the grantor.
