Parks & Rec outlines bridge, trail and sports‑field work; Jensen Farm Phase 3 due this spring

Staff said the storage and open‑space garage behind the Parks & Rec building is complete and praised the extra equipment space. Jensen Farm Phase 3 is progressing: "The whole athletic field ... is shaped and ready to go," staff said, with restrooms and sheds already installed; completion was anticipated by May or June. The Porter Rockwell Trail bridge has encountered a small delay while staff evaluate two adjacent parcels, but the project team expects a bridge or trail across that span this summer.
Other work includes a donated trail easement for a short connection; consolidation of small parks (Sunrise and Inauguration) to improve access from multiple neighborhoods; removal of invasive trees and irrigation repairs at a small playground; and proposed flyovers to separate fast downhill bike trails at hazardous intersections where Vertigo and Levitate meet and at another trail crossing. Staff noted these flyover ideas are part of a CIP request and that state recreation grants could cover much of the cost.
Councilors asked timing and maintenance questions; staff said most of the smaller trail connections and maintenance items should be completed this spring. No formal council action was taken during the Parks & Rec presentation.
