Representatives of the Cloud County Fair Board told the county commission on June 17 that they will seek $40,000 in the 2025 county budget for several fairground projects. Lisa Mosher, Brent Gering, Danny McReynolds and K’lynn Barr described planned work that included installing a security system, upgrading acoustics, finishing concrete floors in the commercial building, replacing hog pen panels, adding large fans in the arena, reconfiguring food-stand windows, replacing fence between the beef barn and racetrack, updating bleacher seating, painting multiple barns and constructing a small storage building and camper hook-ups.
The board members said the $40,000 request will be considered during the county’s 2025 budget process; the minutes record the item as a request rather than a formal appropriation. Commissioners did not take a vote on the fair board request at the meeting.
