Cloud County approves personnel changes, hires corrections officer and voids small stale check

The Cloud County Board of Commissioners approved several personnel actions during its June 3 meeting.
On motions by Commissioner Ron Copple, seconded by Commissioner Michael Cleveland, the board approved changing Mark Coleman’s classification from Data Collector to Appraiser 1 and authorized a wage increase from $17.48 to $18.00, effective June 2, 2024. The board also recognized a wage adjustment for James Belden from $22.94 to $23.94, effective May 19, 2024.
Commissioner Cleveland moved and Commissioner Copple seconded a resolution to void check number 21876, issued Nov. 6, 2023, to vendor Katie Kearn for $8.52; the board unanimously approved Resolution 2024-10 stating the vendor did not receive the check.
The board also approved hiring Theodore Gregory as a corrections officer at $17.50 an hour, effective May 29, 2024. Multiple short executive sessions were held under the personnel exception to discuss non-elected personnel and to interview County Highway Administrator applicants; the sessions were scheduled to resume in open session at stated times during the meeting.
The meeting minutes do not record debate on these items; all recorded motions passed by unanimous vote.
