Town manager reports election turnout, cleanup day, and resident reminders

Town Manager Rick Sawyer provided the council with administrative updates at the March 16 meeting, reporting election metrics and upcoming community events.
Sawyer said 4,241 people voted on election day — one of the town’s higher turnouts in the last decade — and that the town recorded 100 same-day registrations. He reported there are about 16,917 registered voters in Bedford and described poll-pad data showing peak voter flow mid-morning through noon.
Sawyer also announced the 6th annual cleanup (Bedford Day) scheduled for Saturday, April 11, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.; reminded residents that dog licenses must be renewed by April 30 each year; and noted Camp Quetzal will run June 22–Aug. 7 for ages roughly 6–13, operating 9 a.m.–4 p.m. daily with weekly field trips.
He encouraged residents and councilors to participate in outreach and to contact public works for event coordination. The town manager’s written report contains further details, he said.
