Oro Valley working group reviews 10-year plan draft; views discussion postponed

The group devoted most of its time to two items and gave staff clear direction to soften prescriptive funding language: attendees asked that the town not be portrayed as categorically barred from any future funding role for a performing arts center, and that the draft not unduly single out Oro Valley Marketplace as the sole or preferred funder of a community hub. Several residents emphasized exploring public'private partnerships, keeping multiple location options open, and avoiding language that would bind future councils.
Staff will take the group's feedback, revise the orange-highlighted sentences, and circulate updated language before the next meeting. The working group agreed to postpone discussion of views to the next session (same time next Tuesday), when the agenda will also include housing-related design-standard language linked to the views conversation.
Next steps: staff will share a detailed agenda and draft language in advance; the performing-arts foundation's feasibility study (funded by a $50,000 pledge) is expected in mid-January and will be used to inform continued deliberations.
