Messina told the board she operates Mapleview Salon and said she serves roughly six clients per week. "I have 0 intent to change or grow my part time business," she said, describing the move as a way to make more family space while keeping the same customer flow.
Planning Director Becky Hebert told the board staff had reviewed the application and recommended approval with conditions, including driveway permitting through Public Works and other items listed in the staff memo. Neighbors and customers testified in support; Carol Depardo and Joseph Depardo both described long histories as clients and urged approval.
Board member Steve Clough moved to grant the permit in accordance with the staff findings and conditions; the motion was seconded by Logan Johnson and the board carried the motion. The approval is subject to the conditions in the staff report, which the applicant must satisfy before final plan signature.
