Commission recommends boundary adjustment to correct recorded parcel error with Alpine City

Staff explained the adjustment as a narrow strip of hillside and low-density land near 16001 South and 3500 East that will transfer to Alpine as part of a municipal-boundary correction. An affected property owner, David Whitbeck, told the commission that a county-recorder error effectively subtracted about 20 feet from his parcel and that the mutual boundary adjustment between Draper and Alpine would correct that discrepancy; a surveyor who worked with the owner was present to confirm the need for a coordinated correction.
The commission voted unanimously to forward a positive recommendation to the City Council based on the staff findings that the amendments are consistent with Draper’s general plan policies and that the boundary adjustment corrects a recorded error affecting property lines.
Next steps: the City Council will consider the boundary adjustment for final approval and staff will coordinate with Alpine City and the county recorder to finalize the conveyance and mapping changes.
