Residents raise safety and funding concerns; supervisors discuss courthouse remodel options

Resident Zach Kauffman told the board the boiler in the Annex building had been deemed unsafe and asked that the condition be addressed. LeAnn Powers raised concerns that library funding had been cut; Chair Mark Groenendyk responded to Powers during the meeting, saying funding was not cut and that the issue had been discussed at the recent budget meeting. Rudy Van Mersbergen told the board he believed the previous meeting had included improper use of Bible wording and requested the board note the concern. Heather Fogle also asked for clarification on library funding and thanked the board for continuing support.
In other business, the board heard from Brad Fisher of Christner Construction about remodeling options for county facilities. The board did not take a vote or adopt a plan at the meeting, instead agreeing to review additional information and revisit the discussion at a future session.
