Community Power board proposes higher 2026 rates as it rebuilds reserves, Bedford member says
Summary

Commission member Chris Bandeisian updated the Energy Commission on Community Power (CPCNH), saying the board reviewed its rate schedule and is proposing a rate for the next cycle that is higher than the rate proposed by Eversource. "They looked at what their rates are. They're still in the catch up mode in terms of reserves and so for that, among other reasons, 2026 is not going to be a good year," Bandeisian said.
Bandeisian said the board adopted a draft rate that is above the Eversource‑proposed rate for the period under discussion and noted that Eversource must go through the Public Utilities Commission process for any changes to the utility rate. He cautioned the commission that the board’s draft could change before final adoption and that customers weighing long‑term supplier options may want to check the New Hampshire Department of Energy site for comparative rates.
Commissioners discussed opt‑up options for residents who want to lock in green supply or different pricing. The update was presented as information to the commission; no formal action was taken at the meeting.
