At the March 24 meeting a Thomas Avenue resident, Doris Lee, told the board she and neighbors face constrained access and ongoing road problems that could be aggravated by new development at Aberdeen Station.
"I live on Thomas Avenue, which is bottlenecked," Lee said, describing two neighborhood exits and reporting a portable toilet was left in the middle of Lakeshore Drive, blocking passage. She also said Elm Street has not been properly repaved and that a former Forest Hills connection that once provided another exit was closed years ago.
Lee asked the town to consider the neighborhood’s needs when approving changes at the nearby planned development and said residents deserved clearer follow‑up from town staff and elected officials. The mayor acknowledged the concerns and said the building inspector would be asked to check the reported portable toilet placement; commissioners agreed to put Thomas Avenue on a future work‑session agenda and to conduct site visits.
The board did not resolve the neighborhood’s issues at the March 24 meeting but directed staff to pursue the matter and to bring more information to a work session where public works staff can participate.
