Aberdeen’s board of commissioners approved a temporary road closure to allow a downtown HelloSpring music event on Saturday, May 16. A downtown representative described the event as a signature music event modeled on prior third-Thursday programming with stage setup on the South Sycamore segment and participation from ABC-permitted businesses in the town’s social district. The presentation named Engine Room 87 as a projected band that had not yet been confirmed.
A board member moved to approve the temporary closing and the motion carried by voice vote. The board also appointed Mimi Scarborough to Alternate Post number 2 on the Downtown Advisory Board; Scarborough’s term was listed as expiring on Jan. 1, 2027.
