Council approves nonexclusive construction-and-demolition franchise with Saba Green

The Boca Raton City Council on May 29 approved Ordinance 56-97, authorizing the city manager and city clerk to execute a nonexclusive construction-and-demolition (C&D) debris collection and disposal franchise agreement with Saba Green Inc.
Municipal Services Director Zach Beer presented the item, telling the council the application met the city’s minimum requirements under the code of ordinances and that "currently, there are 9 CND franchises with active franchise agreements operating within the city of Boca Raton and the total revenue for CND franchise operators for fiscal year 24, to date is approximately $628,000." Staff recommended approval and the council opened and closed the public hearing with no public speakers.
The motion to adopt the ordinance was made and seconded on the record; the clerk called the roll and the ordinance passed by a 5-0 vote.
The ordinance authorizes a nonexclusive franchise and directs the city manager and city clerk to finalize the agreement with Saba Green Inc. as provided in the ordinance. Staff noted the franchise program is one of several active franchise operators serving construction-and-demolition debris needs within city limits.
