Duchesne County commissioners adopted updates to Policy 206 (Volunteers) and approved a roster of volunteers who passed background checks during the July 21 meeting.
Human Resource Director Judy Stevenson presented the revised policy language and described planned briefings with departmental safety meetings to review policy changes and incident reporting procedures. After discussion, Commissioner Tracy Killian moved to adopt the amended Policy 206; Commissioners Jeff Chugg and Greg Miles seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
HR Generalist Tommi Mascaro presented a list of volunteers who had completed and passed background checks; the commission approved the volunteer appointments by motion. Stevenson also described a wellness competition with Uintah County and said HR will attend department safety meetings to implement the policy changes.
The policy adoption and volunteer approvals place the updated rules and vetted volunteers on the county record and initiate internal implementation steps.
