Duchesne County commissioners approve equipment purchase, permits, voucher and personnel measures

The Duchesne County Commission on July 21 approved a series of procurement, finance and personnel actions, including a $31,950 equipment purchase and acceptance of the county's independent auditor's report.

Public Works Director Mike Casper presented two quotes for a hydraulic parallel-arm boom mower and told the commission the department's existing mower had outlived its expected life. Commissioner Tracy Killian moved to buy the boom mower from Big B Equipment (Roosevelt) for $31,950.00; Commissioner Jeff Chugg seconded and the motion passed with Commissioners Killian, Chugg and Chair Greg Miles voting aye.

The commission also approved two approach permits after Public Works Deputy Director Clint Curtis presented maps: one residential approach on Cedar View Road and a commercial approach for an oil site operated by Crescent Uinta, LLC. Commissioner Chugg moved to approve the permits; the motion passed unanimously.
