Duchesne County Commission declines county RAP tax, approves routine purchases and vouchers

Duchesne County Commissioners on Aug. 4 unanimously adopted Resolution No. 25‑08, formally stating the county is not seeking to impose a tax under Title 59 (Revenue and Taxation, Chapter 12, Sale and Use Tax, Part 7) that would allow county option funding of botanical, cultural, recreational and zoological organizations or facilities.
The vote followed a presentation from Duchesne City Mayor Rodney Rowley, who presented a July 31 letter notifying the county that the city intends to submit an opinion question to residents about a municipal RAP excise tax.
