The Cloud County Board of Commissioners approved two fund transfers and adopted an updated regional solid-waste plan during its Dec. 8, 2025 meeting, and received an operational briefing after a recycling truck accident.
Rod Michaud, Highway/Weed Administrator, told the board crews were cutting trees and discussed replacing planks and beams on the Istas Bridge. The board approved Transfer 2025-12-08-01 to correct Road & Bridge fund balances (debit Road & Bridge Tax Revenue, credit Road & Bridge Reimbursed Expense) in the amount of $112,012.20 on receipt 32464; the motion passed unanimously.
Mike Hake, Solid Waste Director, reported a one-vehicle accident involving the recycling truck and trailer; no injuries were reported. Hake said the crawler, skid steer and a pickup were out of service at the Transfer Station and discussed the Solid Waste Agreement and employee safety apparel. The board agreed employees may wear safety vests instead of purchasing safety shirts and coats.
The board approved Transfer 2025-12-08-02, debiting Solid Waste Misc and crediting Solid Waste Reimbursed Expense for $11,314.95 on receipt 32584 to correct fund balances. By unanimous vote the board also approved the updated North Central Regional Solid Waste Management Plan for 2026.
The actions were recorded as routine financial housekeeping and regional-plan adoption; the county clerk's office retains the official transfer documentation and the regional plan materials.
