Cloud County commissioners approve $137,909 equipment purchase, several budget and finance items

The Cloud County Board of Commissioners on July 29 approved a series of routine fiscal and administrative items, including the purchase of a New Holland mowing tractor for $137,909.47 and several budget and grant reports for the Community Corrections program.
Rod Michaud, Highway Administrator, told the Board that Noble Road was finished and work was underway on an approach at the River Bridge in Glasco; the Board then approved the tractor purchase on a motion by Commissioner Michael Cleveland, seconded by Commissioner Ron Copple. The motion carried unanimously.
The Board also approved multiple budget and grant documents related to Community Corrections and juvenile services, including the Juvenile Block Amendment Report, the Carryover Reimbursement Budget for Adult/Juvenile FY25, and the FY25 revised budget for Community Corrections. Motions on those items were moved and seconded by commissioners and passed unanimously.
The county approved Resolution 2024-13 to void check #220134 dated July 1, 2024, in the amount of $37,613.03 to Hall Brothers, Inc., because the vendor never received the check. Clerk records noted July 2024 sales tax receipts of $94,229.84 compared with $92,612.24 in July 2023.
The Board approved Transfer 2024-0729-1, moving $463.19 from the Crisis Pantry Grant fund to County Health – Commodities, and approved expenses totaling $171,330.01 across multiple county funds (General Fund; Road & Bridge; Solid Waste; Community Corrections; County Health; and others). The expense breakdown was filed with the County Clerk.
All recorded votes on motions at the meeting were unanimous. The Board approved the July 22, 2024 minutes and adjourned at 10:47 a.m.; the next regular session is scheduled for August 5, 2024.
