Fulton County approves HAVA-funded keycard and camera upgrades for elections office

The Fulton County Board of Commissioners approved use of the 2024 HAVA Elections Security Grant to install a keycard/fob system and separate door cameras at the Voter Registration/Election Office and county commissioners' office doors, and also approved a TelePlus maintenance agreement for county security systems.
Fulton County commissioners on Dec. 9 authorized physical security upgrades at the County Commissioners' Office and Voter Registration/Election Office, using a 2024 HAVA Elections Security Grant to cover a $3,000 TelePlus quote for a keycard/fob installation and camera work.
Voter Registration/Election Director Linda Doyle brought the recommendation to the board and described plans for separate cameras at the commissioners' office door and the election office door. Commissioners also authorized Elect IT contractor Rick Grissinger to install the additional cameras, with funding to come from the 2024 HAVA Elections Security Grant.
Commissioner Steven L. Wible moved to approve the TelePlus quote for the keycard/fob installation and the camera installs to be funded by the HAVA grant; the motion passed unanimously.
Separately, the board approved a TelePlus Protection System Extended Service Agreement (Silver Maintenance Coverage Plan) for Jan. 1–Dec. 31, 2026, at $14,040.56 to cover ongoing maintenance for county-installed systems.
The moves pair a one-time hardware installation paid from federal election-security grant funds with a county-paid maintenance contract to keep the systems operating. The board did not record additional technical specifications in the minutes.
